Chinook Helicopters

I came to Chinook to do my Multi-IFR rating and was amazed at how professional, knowledgeable and easygoing all of the instructors and other staff were. They truly care about your success and want you to be a well-trained, professional pilot. I cannot recommend Chinook enough. If you want to train with the best, this is where you need to go.

Came to Abbotsford from Australia to do my license conversion with Chinook to work in Canada. This was not their first rodeo - the process was smooth and structured and I flew with industry experienced instructors who could show practical applications for the theory they taught. The whole conversion took 3-4 weeks with some delays due to weather, but that’s aviation! Glad I chose Chinook, their reputation is well deserved.

Best school in canada for aviation hands down. I came from another school and I'm so thankful I came to chinook to finish my license. The way the have everything structured is so essential for good learning. Also Incredible instructors, admin and owner. So thankful for my time here. Can't wait to do some endorsements.

Chinook Helicopters was by far the most enjoyable, positive learning environment I've been a part of. The instructors and staff are so invested in the success of the students, and recognize the financial undertaking to the best of their ability. From front dest to CEO or Chief pilot students have support throughout the program.Students have access to the hangars and the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to further their mechanical understanding of the the machines they are flying as well. I found myself spending most of the day at the school during the week studying, listening to other students post flight debriefs or pre-flight briefs.I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the school and I am grateful for the connections I made through the school within the industry and with the other student pilots.

I recently completed my commercial helicopter pilot licence at Chinook and had a great time doing it! Everyone from the instructors to the office staff to the maintenance team is very friendly and knowledgeable. All in all my costs were just under 85k, but that’s with a night rating and a 206 endorsement (those are optional extras if you are so inclined). If you are looking to get your pilot licence (commercial or private for helicopter or fixed wing) I would highly recommend doing it at Chinook.

This is a really professionally run school with high quality instruction and machines, but also great care over the little details that really make a difference. I found the admin team here so helpful too, especially helping to onboard me as a student from the UK. Everyone here really contributed to the positive experience. Highly recommended!

Mom & Son initial flying lesson today Chinook Helicopters Ltd. Each of us were able to have an instructor in separate Cessna aircraft. Definitely would recommend you try this out. The private pilot license is 60 hours and commercial is 200 hours. Your initial flight counts towards either program. Definitely recommend the experience whether you want to follow through with a pilots license after. My son loved it and wants to continue (kids 17 and up can experience or enrol). You are on the controls just over half of the flight in your first flight) with exception to take off and landing). Flight is between 1200 and 2600ft high.

This is the best flight school in BC. And I am having my best flight training experience here.After being postponed and suffering from unnecessary mental tortures in another big but shabby and scam school in YXX, I decided to come here to complete my IFR and FI ratings. Heard about their reputation year ago and the enrolment experience was nice. The office ladies could remember my full name after 1.5 year (I completed PPAER test there).5 instructors here have 35-51 years of flying and flight instruction experiences and all of instructors are professional, they are able to use minimum amount of talking to empower students' potentials as well as understandings.Instructors and staffs are friendly and they know what they are doing.Planes here are mordern and safe. Instructors & staffs treat students with sincerety, respect and professionalism.
